Where is the best hotel to stay in Bangkok for people with a budget?

It is our first time in Bangkok and we want to stay at a hotel that would have easy access to transportations for visiting the city. We also want a hotel that's clean and safe without paying too much.

In Bangkok you can stay in a great hotel even if you are on a budget.

I would go with the Landmark or the Davis. Both are solid 4 star to near 5 star hotels. I would say the Landmark is a touch better. The Davis can be as low as about 70$ us and the Landmark starts around 100$.
