Do you think local hotels would hire me? I have my own car and am rather ambitious, but I'm afraid my age would be a deterrent. I would like to work reception.
Also, I live close to the beach. So I know there will be a bit of tourists coming in this summer if it's relevant.
Well if they see that you are cut out for the job I see no reason for them not to hire you at all. But, of course there are other issues like parental consent and legal age (I dont know about the policies in your country, but here in the Philippines, one should at least be 16 y/o to be eligible to work).
Wishing you all the luck in the world!
You should just go into the hotels around you and ask to talk to a hiring manager. Find out what positions they need, and the age limits they might have. It's always good when applying for a job to talk to the manager right away, it's a good impression.
It depends. You only need to be 16 to operate a register in most states but usually they hire 18 year olds just in case. You could probably be a bellhop or housekeeper though.
If I were you, I'd apply at the airport as a porter. They make hella tips and it's a similar job style to a hotel. Looks great on a resume also.
