They can't really do anything. If you are feeling guilty you can just mail it back to them. If it is a card then no worry, they just decode it anyway. If it is an actual key they may have to change the lock.
Your credit card will be charged $25-$75 at most hotels in the US.
You're credit card will be charged.
you will get a huge fine and maybe go to jail for stealing...no..j/k
it is no big deal...but you could mail it back to them if it would make you feel better!
mail it back.
Depends on what kind of key is it....
If it's a magnetic card, it's fine. The card will be delete at a certain hour during the day of your check out. The hotel will charge nothing.
If it's a real key. A lot of hotels will charge you.
I'll wait to see if they gonna call me or check my Credit Card if there's any extra charge from the hotel.
If not, you keep the key!
it doesnt matter. the key is deleted from the room number when they check out. i travel a lot and i take the hotel key often.. by mistake. if you return the key, they just delete the information and then re-use the keys. its not a big deal. dont worry about it!
I'm not sure what the consequences would be, really. Presumably they have extra copies, but they'd probably appreciate getting it back. Why not just mail it back to them?
better return it back before they find it out.
