Lucky you!!!! :)
3 days a bit too much to do the houseboat expereince. Would recommend that you do a day cruise on the houseboat rather than stay overnight. The houseboat does not move at night and the mosquitoes can be a bit of a deterrant to a otherwise nice holiday. Ideally try and club Thekkady (day trip houseboat) with anoth destination like Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary or Munnar. Periyar would enable you to take a water trip into the heartland of the jungles where you can get an eyeful of elephants, etc in natural habitat. If there, I would recommend that you stay at Shalimar Spice Garden (www.anantara.in/shalimar.htm).. Munnar is nice and green with beautiful waterfalls and tea estates...
Enjoy the trip
Ravi Shankar
