What's cheaper catching an airport shuttle or a cab to the hotel?

I'll be staying at Bally's. What's cheaper catching an airport shuttle or a cab to the hotel?

Definitely use the shuttle. The cabbies will take you the long way from the Airport to the Strip, costing you considerably. Depending on where you are staying, many hotels offer free shuttle service. Take my word for it - cabbies will rip-you-off and argue with you about the best route.

Cabs a expensive here in Las Vegas.

The bus is cheaper and usually quicker than either a taxi or shuttle.

CAT/Deuce info

To catch the bus at McCarran go to "Ground Level Transportation 0"

You can take any of the 3 busses from the AP and get to Bally's

If you take the #108 Paradise or #109 Maryland Pkwy North transfer at Flamingo to the #202 W Flamingo.

If you take the #109 Maryland Pkwy South, transfer to the Deuce at the SSTT.

During most of the day both of the #109 busses stop every 12min and the #108 stops every 20min, it's very unusual to have to wait much more than 5min for a bus.

It's $2.50 for a 24hr CAT pass - If you use the Deuce they will charge you an extra .50c and issue another pass.

Shuttle - Cost "around" $6 each - The bad part is you have to wait until they fill up the shuttle going to your area, then you get to wait as they drop people off, if you're last on the list this can be a very long trip to go a short distance. Never buy the RT, they tend to not show up.

Cab - $13-$15 to Bally's depending on traffic - Problem is you have to wait in line for the taxi and the normal wait is around 1 hour. On a busy Friday night or during special events and large conventions over 2 hours is not unusual.

Shuttle is cheaper for just one person. All the cabs are about the same unless you answer yes when the driver asks if you want to go through the tunnel. That increases the fare considerably.

cabs aren't cheap... shuttles are about 5-6 bucks a person to strip hotels.. so it depends how many people, if any, you will have with you to split the cab fare.

i always take the shuttle...

Airport Shuttles are usually less than cabs, only drawback both coming and going from airport is that you may share a ride with many passengers coming from other hotels. Many times there may be quite a few ppl who need p/u before going back to a/p so make sure you get on a bus well before your plane leaves.

I recommended to do what i always do, while in the plane find someelse who is staying at the same hotel as you, and share the cost of the cab with them, you will arrive quickly at half the cost, and willl not have to wait forever for one of the shuttles.Years ago i prepaid for a shuttle and it did not come and i had to take a cab anyway, and lost the shuttel fee...enjoy your trip, and when enough money to take a limo back to the airport.

well a cap of coarse but id git the airport shuttle lol kidding id git a cab

Take the shuttle - the taxis in Vegas (I assume that's where you are going) will scam you if it's your first time. It's like they see you coming and they'll take the long way. In Denver, it's $50 one way compared to $18 for the shuttle - that might be comparable to their rates. Next time you go, you can take a cab when you know where you are going and can tell the driver which roads to take. Good luck!

Taking a shuttle is always cheaper but it won't get you there faster. The joy of a cab is that you get there faster and on your terms. With a shuttle, you might have to deal with a packed shuttle and multiple stops.

Air port shuttle.

I live in Vegas and use taxis at least twice a month. The ride will cost you around $15-20 so without a doubt try taking the shuttle.

shuttle is cheaper but has many stops, cab is quicker.

Take a limo it is so cheap http://lasvegas.nyctourist.com/ or http://www.las-vegas-nevada.com/ good luck!

For a single person the shuttle would be cheaper but you will stop at several hotels. When two or more .. a taxi is cheaper. You can stand in line for quite awhile at certain periods to get a taxi.

Most casinos will pick you up for free, so not the cab.

The trip is about 4 miles. A taxi will cost you about $14 and a shuttle is $5 plus tip.
