Last time this happened, all we had to do was have someone check in and then we would come up to the room later. It makes sense, I just wanna know if it's easy to do or even worth it.
Most hotels (especially Hiltons), don't charge for a 2nd or even 3rd person in a room, so there's no sense in lying or trying to 'sneak' somebody in.
There's also this to think about: Hotels need to know exactly how many people are in each room. If there's an emergency (fire, etc.), they hand that info over to the authorities. If you tell the hotel that you are the only person in the room, they won't know to look for someone else if they don't know!!
It's not worth lying and potentially getting caught, especially when the difference between 1 person and 2 people is usually nothing.
Here's what you do -- call the hotel and find out if it costs to have an extra person in your room. It can't hurt to call and ask!
I think you maybe risking for being kick out of the hotel or sought of. But if the hotel has a rate for a double room, then you should book a room for two person, not just one.
srry idk
