Is it best to bring along your own bedding when staying at a hotel?

I have heard so many things about hotel and motel bedding being not so clean. I have wondered if I should bring along my own bedding set and redress the bed with it.

I would say that it depends on the hotel and it might be a case of "you get what you pay for"

I worked in several 4/5 star hotels in the summer when I was a student and in all they sent out their laundry to a professional agency who laundered the sheets and it was a must that they were changed when a customer left.

However the dubious items can be the top cover on a bed (This is laundered considerably less) and the changing of matresses (this was never done according to other staff members.

So I guess it is a matter of choice if you want to bring it along, or you could just remove the top cover as (as long as you have a reasonable hotel) the sheets will be clean (you can see this and also will be ironed and straight)

When staying at a decent hotel which is obviously clean with fresh sheets etc, i just sleep easily in the bedding provided.

I have also travelled extensively staying in hostels and cheap backpacker accommodation. For this, I bought a pure silk sleeping bag thing (off ebay, really cheap). It takes up no room at all and creepy crawlies cannot get through the tight weave of the silk, so no bed bugs or mosquitos. Plus its really nice to sleep in, all slippery. It covers me from head to toe so i don't have to touch any part of the bed with my skin.

omgosh yea u definetly should. my health teacher told once he stayed at a hotel and there was pubic hair all over the sheets and bloods stains. obviously they don't change the sheets very often. i mean would you realy want to get pubic lice? better safe than sorry.
