Can anyone comment on HolidayInn Express Luohu hotel? Is it within walking to shopping and eating places?

Found that hotel is recently opened this year, and is near some train station.

I stayed in a hotel near this one - its a ten minute walk to the railway station on a not overly interesting street. For a much more central hotel at about the same price try this one http://www.elong.net/hotels/details.aspx?m=details&hotelid=22003010 - bang in the middle of downtown and a metro starion nearby. I stayed there 2 months ago and will be there again next week - 189 RMB per night. Good comfortable rooms - one drawback is slow elevators but thats no biggie. take the metro to lao jie for yet more shopping - or walk - about 15-20 minutes

Lot's of restaurants and fast food, for bargain shopping you are better off to go to Dongmen, (everything you ever want and need)

Directions -take the subway , line one, get off at Lao Jie, subway stop, exit B, turn right an air market, when bargaining generally offer 30 to 50% of the asking price.

Luoho is good for fake bags, usually more expensive, because people come over from Hong Kong

Yes, the train station is in direct proximity to several markets and restaurants, and so is the hotel. Shenzhen is like one big shopping mall, and Guangdong is famous for its cuisines, so you'll have the best of both worlds.
