Are peeling oranges in a hotel room illegal?

I've heard this ridiculous law that peelilng or eating an orange in a hotel room is illegal! Is that true? If so, why?

yeah, thats why they place fruit baskets in your rooms, because they want you to break the law.

Not here in the USA

Only in California

It might be a blue law in some state.

Edit: I found one source that claims it is a blue law in Los Angeles.

No.

It's probably one of those weird outdated laws that's there for an archaic reason.

I believe it's against the law to prepare food in a hotel room unless it's equipped with a kitchenette. Peeling an orange is considered 'preparing food' so it may be illegal.

I'm just speculating, but that would be my guess.

Not that I know of, and I'm from Vegas!!!
