Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurents within the Aladdin Hotel and Casino (we'll be staying here)? We are looking for something that's not too expenses but somewhere with a good variety on the menu. I would be grateful if you could suggest the approx price per head too. Thanks.
I belong to a Vegas message board and Commanders Palace in the Desert Passage area consistantly gets recommended. It's a little pricey though. Here's a link to their site. http://www.commanderspalace.com/las_vegas/
You could always call and ask if they have any kind of packages for weddings (a price fix kinda deal).
You could also check with some of the restaurants at MGM Grand next door (way more of a variety over there):

The Aladdin hotel is changing over to the Planet Hollywood Casino and hotel.
The place is in transition and I would NOT recommend it for your wedding or your stay
Here is some into on the change and you can e-mail me for some info about alternatives withing your budget. I am very familiar with Las Vegas accommodations, weddings and restaurants
From Frommers Travel guide 2006
In 2004 the Planet Hollywood group, known for its movie-theme restaurants, took over the Aladdin, which never really took off after the original Aladdin was imploded and replaced by this high-rolling version. Starwood (the group that runs the Westin, Sheraton, and W Hotels, among others) joined Planet Hollywood to redevelop the resort's hotel theme. It initially announced that the Aladdin's Arabian Nights theme would be gone by early 2005, but as of this writing, the property still retains some of its Aladdin elements. It now appears that the full Planet Hollywood/Starwood makeover will be completed in 2006 -- stayed tuned, as Starwood's impeccable reputation, coupled with Planet Hollywood's exuberance, could make for a fascinating product. One thing that won't be changing is the presence of an absolutely stellar branch of New Orleans's famed Commander's Palace, which serves one of the most enjoyable Sunday brunches in town. Parking here necessitates a wearying walk through the slick shopping mall -- use the valets and save yourself the trouble.
Sorry, I only know the buffet there. Its really good.
Aladdin has two pretty good, affordable buffets.
Todai for seafood and Asian dishes, and the Spice Market for traditional prime rib.
The full service restuarants (P.F. Changs, Zanzibar, and the Commander's Palace) are more pricey...although they do have the advantage of being more quiet.
Todai.. if you like seafood
I've stayed at the Alladin several times and believe me -- other than a very good buffet, there is no good restaurant compared to other options all around you that are so much better.
If yu want to make this memorable -- go to Paris or Bellagio or even the Mirage. If you have money to spend -- serious money -- go to the Wynn hotel and any of their nice restaurants.
