What is the best hotel to stay at in NYC for less than $150.00/night and free parking?

I'm staying in NYC for 2 nights and I will have a rental car with me. I've heard that parking is a nightmare in the city and I'm willing to stay outside the city and take public transit in. Any recommendations for an economical hotel with easy access to downtown NYC and a parking solution? Thanks!

I don't know at all how much the Newark Hilton costs, but it's a good hotel. It's outside of NYC of course, but it's literally steps away from Penn Station. It takes around 15-20 minutes to get straight to Midtown Manhattan.

i just reserved a room at milfordplaza.com. they are having a 40% off special for the next 2 days. it came out to 131 a night. that said, i dont know what kind of condition it will be in. my aunt stayed there and liked it.
