Renting an hotel for minors at a beach?

Some of my friends & I are planning a Spring Break vacation to Virginia Beach. All of us are seventeen years old though, so we're not old enough to rent an hotel room, I don't think. So my question is, would one of our parents be able to book us the room online with their credit card or something? Or can they let the hotel know & give them permission, to let us check in?

Any specifics would be great. Thanksss.

You are correct that as a minor you can not legally sign a contract, which a hotel room rental is. An adult would have to sign you in, but by doing so they would also make them self legally liable for any damage (something a group of teens seem to do) that was done to the room by your party.

You can do anything you want to get a reservation. (that part does not matter) However, being 17, no hotel will check you in. Once they see you at the front desk, they will ask for ID and send you on your way. And since you guaranteed the reservation with a credit card, we still can charge it. (Especially those third party reservations, priceline.com, orbitz, ect.) Don't try it, it will not work.

I got around this one by going on Spring Break with them. I did not stay with them but checked them in. I had my own room and was there for emergencies. We ate together a couple of times and we went to Medieval Times together.
