How old do you have to be to work in a hotel?

So i dont want a huge job.

Im gonna turn 16 soon and I want to start saving money and be more independant instead of needing my parent's money.

I was thinking cleaning dishes at a hotel would be great since I enjoy cleaning them and I dont need much pay.

How old would you have to be for something like that?

I believe in most states you have to be 14 to be legally employed. I work in the hospitality industry myself and I think at 16 you would be the perfect candidate for a dishwashing position in a hotel. Call alocal hotel and speak to a manager. Just ask them if, at 16 you would be considered for such a position, then go in and fill out an application.
