How old do i have to be to rent a hotel room?

Im going to be going on a pretty long roadtrip with my friend next summer, and i am wondering how old i have to be to rent a hotel room.

Also, if my parents booked the room, would i be able to go stay in it ny myself?

You'll have to call the hotel and ask. I know where I live you have to be 18 and they may not like the idea of your parents paying and having you there alone...Good Luck though!

what are your parents thinking...letting a 16 y/o go on a long roadtrip??? you may be 17 by then, but what is going on there with them???

I was 16 but it was a motel .There is usually a price difference as well as the cleanliness etc...16 and if your parents r willing to do it even better cause u never know u could run it to problems with being out of town people could think your running away especially if you look young.
