The hotel needs to be somewhere in London, can anyone offer me any suggestions ?
Thanks.
I told you.
Reasonably priced and luxury don't happen!!!
As has been said before, 'luxury' and 'reasonable' don't always go together in London.
When i stay in London, i normally stay at one of the Millennium Hotels, or The Chamberlain Hotel.
The Milennium chain has 3 hotels. 2 at Kensington, and 1 at the chelsea football club. http://www.mileniumhotels.co.uk
The Chamberlain has good weekend rates (including breakfast). I use http://www.benbow.org.uk/Chamberlain.htm to book it (make sure you are viewing it in £'s, not Euros!). My wife and I often stay here, and they do provide a good quality service, although it is in a quiet area at the weekend (the business district!)
Hope you both enjoy your romantic stay in London!
i would recommend the Malmaison.
They have little luxury touches without paying through the nose for somewhere like Claridges.
They use mood lighting so it feels romantic.
This is from the Mal website:
If youâ™re looking for style, youâ™re in the right place. Mal London is a stunning hotel, a lavish example of modern chic.
We have 97 rooms, including one suite, all of which are perfect for business trips or luxury weekend breaks.
Our décor is understated but elegant, with lilac, dove and earth fabric tones creating a calm, yet fresh milieu.
All our rooms have the complete set of Mal ingredients - great beds for sleepy heads, moody lighting, power showers, CD players, CD libraries, satellite TV, serious wines and naughty nibbles. Other little luxuries include fast and free internet access, same-day laundry, toiletries that youâ™re encouraged to take with you and â˜vroomâ™ room service for breakfast, dinner or those midnight munchies!
Hi
As several people have said, hotels in London are very expensive anyway, and luxury hotels much more so.
Having said that I have had some excellent stays with lastminute.com 'Top Secret Hotels'. Basically they don't advertise the hotel name because the hotel don't want people to know that they are offering such low rates, but often from the description you can guess anyway, and they wil at least tell you the area of London where the hotel is. You only get the full details when you actually pay.
As long as you don't mind this style of booking then you can get a good deal; I stayed in the Hilton on the south bank for 80 pounds a night and the Cumberland for around 100.
Crowne Plaza are offering special deals at the moment.
Or for a real touch of class (not sure about the reasonable though!) - try the Radisson Edwardian near Trafalgar Square.
We kept a travel log of all the places, attractions we used on our week in London:

I always book with visitlondon.com they range from very basic to 5 star and really it just depends what date you're looking for and what offers they have on at the time. Def worth a look
hotels.com or lastminute are the best websites then you can search and see what you can get for your money. Enjoy
