outdated, great location, great atmosphere I am staying there for the i would say hundredth time in may, go room =]
I live in Las Vegas.... I don't really go to the Flamingo hotel, but pool season is open, so I hear its a decent pool to go to. But there's better ones like the Mandalay or Venetian. There should be a McDonald's inside the hotel so it shouldn't be too far. If you go to Chinatown, there's all kinds of Asian cuisine! And for clubs... Try the new Christian Audigier in the Treasure Island or LAX at the LUXOR. Those two are pretty good to clubbing at. The nearest mall would have to be the Fashion show, which is right across from Treasure Island and Encore/Wynn. The memorial takes you from the MGM I think...and I forgot. Anymore questions, just ask! =)
There is a McDonalds on the strip like almost 2 blocks away but there is a BK and Subway just besides your Hotel.
There is also a Mall like half a block from Flamingo next to the Paris Hotel
But almost all the hotels have shops. There are many things, you can , it all depends what you want to do. There are half priced tickets to shows or activities sold at your Hotel, but you have to be there early, I've seen the long lines
I stayed at the Flaming last May and it is good. Value oriented - McDonald's 3 casinos away Burger King closer. Japanese and Chinese places also close (check the papers/magazines once your there or walk around and look) - Hip hop club is across the street at Caesars called Pure (if you don't know someone or are not a hot girl you may wait on line to get in) Malls are close (more than one - spend money - have fun) monorail gos down to stratosphere area and up to mgm area http://www.lvmonorail.com/
If you decide to stay at the Flamingo, you can enter your travel dates here and find the lowest price from multiple hotel sites. Good luck!

Flamingo has a great location and really nice pool. Other than that, it's a bit outdated.
Shopping is across the street at the Forum Shops in Caesar's.
You can read about the hotel and its reviews here.
